Using The police, a police or only Police

⇒এটি ব্যবহৃত হয় রক্ষীবাহিনী/পুলিশ-বাহিনী অর্থাৎ একটা দল/বাহিনী বুঝাতে। যেটি সবসময় প্লুরাল এবং প্লুরাল ভার্ব নেয়।

↠The police were informed of the news.

↠My son wants to join the police when he grows up.

──➋ A police বলতে কোন কিছু নেই। তবে একজন পুলিশ সদস্য বুঝানোর জন্য,

➣a policeman

➣a policewoman

➣a police officer

ব্যবহৃত হয়।

──➌ শুধু Police অর্থাৎ আগে পিছে কিছু নেই। 

⇒এটিও পুলিশ বাহিনীকেই বুঝায়, তবে সমগ্র পুলিশ বাহিনীটাকেই বুঝায় না। গুটিকয়েক/কয়েকজনকে ইঙ্গিত করতে ব্যবহৃত হয়।

►Police arrested the thief last night.

►Police were chasing the criminals. 

───তবে এক্ষেত্রেও শুধু police না লিখে The police ও লেখা যায়। সমস্যা নেই।

Police শব্দটি Plural তাই

➣The polic

➣Police

সবসময় Plural Verb নিবে(are/were/have ইত্যাদি)। 

আর

➣a policeman

➣a policewoman

➣a police officer

এরা singular তাই singular verb নিবে(is,was,has ইত্যাদি)
